One of the prime attractions of the Valiyaparamba backwaters is a small island called Idayilakadu located in the Valiyaparamba Lake. A road across the lake connects it to the mainland. A foremost attraction of this river island is a sacred groove called “Idayilakadu Sarpa Kavu”. At the middle of the groove is a statue of snake god. The groove is inhabited by many monkeys.
